Grampians Camping
We have just got back from 4 days camping in the Grampians with the Brown's. This is the first time we have gone camping where William has been mobile! Oh NO!!!. It took me a while to stay relatively calm about William crawling through grass covered with Roo Poo, eating grass, getting filthy dirty, getting covered in grass and generally behaving like a little boy. He lived in the same pair of trousers the whole time and about 2 tops!!!!
We hiked to the top of The Pinnacles (2 hours return!!) William was in a backpack carried by Paul and slept for about a hour with his head bobbing around but seemed quite happy when we got to the top and had a bottle.
This is fun daddy - just watch out for my head next time!
All this walking - I need a drink!
We also hiked to Hollow Mountain (1 hour return in the rain!!) but this one was a rock scramble to the top and I almost had a fit when Paul nearly decapitated William on a low tree branch!! Needless to say I kept a close eye behind Paul to make sure that didn't happen again - the rain also made the rocks a bit slippery!! not good when you are carrying 9 kilos on your back - I finally breathed a sigh of relief when we got back to the car.
The first night was very cold and William slept in about 5 layers of blankets but the following nights were quite mild and he slept well - so exhausted from all of the exploring a good camp site has to offer. Flocks of Cockatoo's frequently flew over the camp and William thought they were fantastic, laughing at the noise they made.
I know what the camera is all about!!
All this exploring has worn me out Mummy!
At least the suit is warm!!
William also tried many new flavours - hot chips (much to my disgust given to him by his father!!), marmalade, olive tapenade, baby chino, chocolate cake, banana muffin and croissant.
See - Daddy rescued me
Quite time with Daddy
Feeding time with Daddy
These Brown boys know how to get dirty!!
Extra layers for warmth - with grass stains to match
Daddy - what does this chain do - can I pull it?
